Requirement: In this post, I will describe the various steps that are required to install Oracle Database 19c on the Windows 10 Operating System.

Solution: For installing Oracle Database 19c on the Windows 10 Operating System follow the steps as shown below:

Step 1: Download the Oracle Database software by clicking on the below link

https://www.oracle.com/database/technologies/oracle-database-software-downloads.html#19c

Click on the Download icon as highlighted below.

Step 2: Extract the WINDOWS.X64_193000_db_home.zip file

Step 3: Right click on setup.exe and Run as administrator

Step 4: Select Create and configure a single instance database > Click Next

Step 5: Select Desktop class > Click Next

Step 6: Select Create New Windows User > Click Next

Step 7: Provide the details as shown below (Of course this details may be different for your case) > Click Next

Step 8: Click on Install

Step 9: Wait for sometime as the installation process might take time.

Step 10: Click on Close. And with that the Oracle Database 19C installation on the Windows 10 Operating System is completed successfully.

Step 11: Verify by connecting to the Oracle Database 19C. For that follow the below steps

  • Open command prompt Type sqlplus and press Enter button of your keyboard
  • Give the user-name as sys as sysdba
  • Leave the password as blank
  • Press Enter button of your keyboard

And with that we can see that we are connected to the Oracle Database 19c Enterprise Edition 19.0.0.0.0 – Production Version 19.3.0.0.0

Hence, the solution to our requirement.
